A Dog Year

This film tells the story of a 50-something writer in a mid-existential crisis who impulsively agrees to adopt a well-bred but high-strung border collie. As the dog wreaks havoc on his suburban household, Jon's angst-ridden attempts to rein him in meet with little success. But a move to a rural farmhouse, combined with behavioral lessons from a real-life dog whisperer and her herd of sheep, slowly yields dividends for the dog and, most importantly, for Jon. Ultimately, the experience transforms both man and dog in meaningful, unexpected ways.
